Vinyl flooring is a product composed of several layers,here we have many choices to remove scuff marks from vinyl flooring:
• Use a magic eraser sponge.
Magic eraser sponges are very effective to remove scuffs marks and scratches on vinyl floors. Gently rub the scuffed area using small circular motions. Wipe away residue with a damp cloth and buff the area to blend in with the surrounding floor finish. Works on light to medium scuffs, scratches and scuffs.
• Scrub with baking soda and water paste.
Make a paste from baking soda and water and scrub the scuffs with the paste using a soft scrub sponge or cloth. Rinse well with water and blot to dry. The abrasive yet non-scratching nature of baking soda helps lift scuff marks from vinyl floors without damaging the surface.
• Use a nail brush.
For tougher scuffs, use a old soft bristled toothbrush or nail brush to scrub the scuff marks. The stiff bristles help scrub away marks very effectively. Be very gentle and exercise care not to create additional scratches. Follow scrubbing with a paste of baking soda and water for further scuff removal.
• Apply a vinyl scratch remover product.
Commercial vinyl and resilient floor scratch removers contain abrasives to lift scuffs and scratches without scratching the surface. Follow directions and gently rub onto scuffs with an applicator pad, scrub sponge or non-abrasive cloth. These creams/liquids work on tough scuffs and scratches. They provide a protective coating and higher shine when buffed.
• Use a polishing cream.
For light to moderate scuffs and scratches, rubbing a vinyl polishing cream into the marks with a soft cloth can help lift and fade the scuffs to blend in with the surrounding floor finish. Buff the area well with a clean cloth to brighten the shine and make scuffs less noticeable. Requires few, light scrubs to avoid further damage.
