Do you have pets at home and wonder what the best type of flooring for pets would be to ensure your home looks beautiful, but your pets are kept safe?
We’ve put together some details about the type of flooring available and how well each one can work with your pets.

Carpet
Some flooring is best avoided if you do have pets at home. Carpet is one of the ones to avoid as it can trap dirt, dust and fur as well as also storing fleas etc that dogs can bring into your home.
Although we say to avoid it, you can still manage in your home, if you clean it regularly. You may also just want to choose carpet for the areas of your home that your pets visit less regularly.
Wood Flooring
Wood can be a great option if you have pets. This flooring is durable and very easy to clean. Any scratches that might appear on your wood flooring are quite easy to hide due to the changes in the natural wood. Wood flooring is also stain resistant, which does help for any accidents that may occur.
There is only one disadvantage to having wood flooring and this is that it may be a little slippery for your pets.
Vinyl Flooring
Vinyl is our favourite type of flooring if you have pets. This type of flooring is much more durable than any other. As well as wood flooring it is also stain resistant and very durable.
It is also easy to clean and you can even find waterproof options, which would be fantastic if you have dogs at home. As opposed to wooden flooring, LVT is scratch resistant so you won’t have to deal with any repairs or replacements, until you’d like to change the look of your room.
