So the question that comes first is how to clean your wooden floor? Before going into details about cleaning, one must acknowledge the different types of wood floors that are: solid wood floor and engineered wood floor, have different methods of cleaning.
HOW TO Take Care FOR YOUR ENGINEERED WOOD FLOORS

1. Sweep everyday
To keep your wooden floor dust and dirt free you should sweep the surface every day. Use a soft bristle brush as it is delicate but effective. You can use a vacuum cleaner, but it should have an attachment designed for wooden floors.
2.Purchase the Appropriate Cleaner
Many floor cleaners have been approved for use with engineered wood floors. It is essential also to make sure that the cleaner works with the finishing on your floors. Strictly follow the cleaner instructions. This is the best way to make wood floors look new again.
3. Wipe up spills
Your wooden floor can absorb water or any type of liquid that is left on it for a while. It is essential that you wipe away excess water as soon as you notice it. If it is left to soak in, it may leave water marks on your floor, or even cause deeper water damage to the planks.

4. Use doormats
We always recommend that you use doormats at all entry doors. This will help to catch dirt and water before it has the chance to get onto your floor. This is especially important if your wooden floor leads straight onto an entrance door (e.g. a hallway, conservatory or any room with an external door).
5.Deeper Cleaning
There is no getting away from it. If you use your floors, they will become dirty. Although frequent sweeping and washing will keep dirt from becoming embedded in your floors, you may require a deeper cleaning on occasion. At Wood Flooring Ireland, we can advise you on the best floor cleaner to use when you need a more vigorous cleaning. Use the same method you use for lighter mopping. Wash the floors once with the more powerful cleaner, then rinse with a clean mop. Depending on which wood you choose for your top layer, we can recommend how often you should deep clean. A good rule of thumb is every 4 – 6 weeks.
